Frequently asked questions
Who is kidvak intended for?
Kidvak is intended for all babies. From newborn to 25 kg child.
Newborn - for a newborn, kidvak is the most natural environment, right after the mother's arms or being in a scarf. The rounded back causes his spine to be relaxed, peristalsis works excellently. It also helps children who have problems with a sore tummy. The baby experiences similar sensations in the hook, as in the mother's belly, and this helps him to relax. Horizontal and vertical rocking, thermal comfort thanks to the sheep's wool lining, a rounded back and an environment protected from unnecessary stimuli - all this simulates the womb. I always say that. We can't think of anything better than a womb for a baby, we can only try to imitate it.
Bigger child - for a bigger child, the kidvak is mostly used for sleeping or playing. Alternatively, shorter daytime sleep. Our four-year-old son still likes the hook. He crawls in there with a book, it's his place of relaxation. He often looks for the hook when he is sick. He curls up there and rests.
Isn't it too late to buy a kidvak, for example, for a one-year-old?
Our story with kidvak began when our son was 11 months old. Until then, he mostly fell asleep while breastfeeding, but suddenly he was much more active and after breastfeeding he started climbing on the bed and it was quite difficult to put him to sleep. I needed something, a coupon: an akov sander that would stabilize it in one place, and the hook managed this impossible mission. Suddenly, the little boy was asleep within five minutes. So even with older children, kidvak can fundamentally help and bring relief.
What is the difference between a small and a large kidvak?
The difference between a small and a large kidvak is mainly in the length of the part that is located under the baby. In other words, even a taller baby can fit into a larger kidvak. For a small kidvak it is 100cm and for a large one 130cm. Furthermore, the small hook comes with a softer spring that springs from 3-15kg. Stronger for a larger kidvak, it springs from 8-25kg. You can add a soft spring to the larger kidvak and thus use the large kidvak from a newborn to a four-year-old.
How is kidvak maintained?
Very simply. Remove all fixed parts, such as the pole, carabiners, ... and wash it in the washing machine. Even dry in the dryer. Each kidvak has a sewn-on label with washing instructions, as this is different for cotton and linen kidvaks. The wool insert can be washed by hand or on the manual program in the washing machine, while I recommend using a gentle detergent designed for wool.
Is it possible to order kidvak in an accelerated process?
It is rare that we have something in stock. We mostly sew to order and production takes about 14 working days. However, if you have a crying baby and you really need help as soon as possible, write me a message. I understand you.
